What is Tropical Western Astrology?Tropical Western astrology is like the classic, go-to guide for all your astrological adventures! It's the most popular form of astrology in the Western world, focusing on the Sun's position and the changing seasons to give you a comprehensive look at your personality, relationships, and life path. At its heart, Tropical Western astrology divides the sky into twelve zodiac signs, each corresponding to a segment of the ecliptic (the Sun's path through the sky). These signs are named after constellations and are associated with specific dates based on the Sun's position. For example, if you were born between March 21 and April 19, you're an Aries because the Sun was in that part of the sky when you were born. This type of astrology uses your birth chart, a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born, to reveal insights about your strengths, challenges, and life's journey. By analyzing the positions of the planets, houses, and aspects in your chart, I can offer you personalized guidance and tons of self discovery.

What is Placidus and Why Should You Care? You may have heard of Whole Sign, Koch, Equal, or Porphyry, but I use Placidus because degrees actually matter. It chops up the sky based on time, not space, meaning no two charts play out the same way. A planet at 29° isn’t lounging - it’s at a critical threshold, about to transition into a new life area and shake up everything that house rules. In Placidus, house cusps shift dynamically, meaning planets near the boundary are already influencing the next house, setting the stage for major shifts before you even realize they’ve begun. This is why I spent 15+ years developing my Degree Theory, because degrees tell the real story: intensity, timing, and how energy matures in your life. If you want precision, not vague, cookie-cutter nonsense, Placidus is the system that delivers.

Why did I Develop My Own Degree Theory to Create ZiggyAstroDust?I developed my own Degree Theory because astrology kept missing the mark. Traditional methods treated degrees like an afterthought, but I saw the patterns. A planet at 17° isn’t just sitting there: it carries a distinct energy, a unique phase of development. Over 15+ years, I refined Degree Theory to track timing, pressure points, and evolution. A planet at 1° is raw and impulsive, while 28° carries mastery or crisis. Add Placidus into the mix, and you get real precision, not vague interpretations. It's a system that shows exactly when and how planetary energy shifts. This is why I created my proprietary software and clone of me, ZiggyAstroDust, to give astrology the depth it deserves.
